Users review: I saw this film San Francisco International Film Festival. I do not usually see two films one day and was tired when see another movie, but Bell woke me up. I really enjoyed it. This film was all in layer generally fictional, but Given it was based on true story, I found it fascinating. Add to England in the late 1700s, it shows impact of slave society. The family patriarch is a justice of the Supreme Court of England and takes an important case against the slave trade ship the while facing the reality of the constraints faced by mulatto his niece. This shows that when someone becomes part of your family, and you love the person, it changes perspective on cultural norms. This photo made me look into Legal Case History actual case. The film also showed him as white and mulatto nieces: women, as the price the head thereof, and the word because of their place in this community of men ... This movie showed that the while much has changed, many relationships have not changed 300 years ... Two brothers, nieces court that could have from any of the current movie, if they just update the style of clothing, hair and accents.
